根据中文学校成立以来的教学实践和经验,制定此守则在于指导和提高教师的教学质量和教学效率。
- 教师应服从校长和教学管理人员对教学工作的安排。
- 上课前十分钟, 教师应做好课前准备工作。上课时,教师应衣着整洁。
- 每学年开学的第二周,教师应递交教学计划进度表. 并在学年结束后的第二周递交学年总结。
- 开学后第二周,教师应将教学计划发给班上每个学生。
- 开学初,教师可召开家长会。向家长介绍教学计划,以争取家长的支持和配合。学年结束时,教师可邀请家长参加学生的学习成果观摩会。
- 根据学生对授课内容的掌握程度, 教师可适当调整教学进度。
- 在备课和上课时,教师应充分考虑到这儿学生的特点, 寓教于乐。
- 教师应认真批改学生的作业,发现问题及时与学生家长和学校沟通。
- 教师在教学中,教师不应使用任何带有种族歧视的语言,并避免使用政治上敏感的词汇。
- 教师应允许学校管理人员听课。
- 在不影响教学秩序情况下, 教师应欢迎家长来听课。
- 教师因事请假,应提前一星期通知校方,以便校方有充分的时间安排代课老师。
- 教学用品和奖品可由教师自购, 但物品的种类和金额须事先报知校长或教务长, 征得同意后, 方可报销。
- 为保证正常教学的秩序, 教师应教育学生爱护公物、 保持教室整洁及在课间休息时不大声喧哗。
- 遇到学校提前放学而家长未及时赶到的情况下, 为保证学生的安全,教师不应让学生离开教室。
为维护正常的教学秩序, 保障巴尔地摩中文学校能长期使用公立大学教室, 在校学生的行为须符合马里兰州(Public School Student
Responsibilities and Rights) 以及巴尔地摩中文学校学生守则. 违反规定者将受到警告,罚款以致停课处分.
守则还包括:
- 未经教师同意, 学生不得移动教室内的桌椅以及其它教具的摆设。
- 不得破坏学校各种公共设施包括厕所,饮水台等。
- 不得在公共场所跑动, 打闹及叫喊。
- 不无故缺勤。
为维护正常的教学秩序, 保证学生的安全, 保持租用教室的整洁, 巴尔地摩中文学校特制定家长守则如下:
- 家长应按时将学生送到学校指定的区域, 以保证上课准时进行. 放学后, 家长应按时到学校接学生, 以保障每位学生的安全。
- 在子女生病或有其它活动不能到校上课时, 家长有义务向老师请假。
- 家长须教导自己的子女不要在上课时吃零食。
- 未经校方同意, 任何家长不得擅自调换班级。 学生和班级的分配及调整, 一律由校方统一安排。
- 希望家长积极参加中文学校安排的各项服务学生的工作。
The purpose of this policy is to provide guidance to faculty on maintaining an orderly teaching/learning environment and better serving our students’ needs.
- Faculty shall defer to the school administrators for the teaching arrangement.
- Faculty shall arrive at school at least 10 minutes earlier to prepare for class.
- Faculty shall submit the syllabus to the Provost no later than the second
week after the semester starts; faculty are also required to submit the final
report to the Provost no later than the second week after the academic year is
finished.
- Faculty shall distribute the syllabus to every student no later than the second
week after the semester starts.
- Faculty may hold parent-teacher conferences at the beginning of the semester
or any other time as needed to keep parents informed about the curriculum
and their children’s progress.
- Faculty may adjust their teaching pace based on the students’ needs.
- Faculty shall consider their students’ needs in their planning and teaching.
- Faculty shall communicate any concerns regarding their students’
performance to parents as well as school administrators, if needed in a timely
manner.
- Any discriminatory language is prohibited in class. Faculty shall also avoid
using any politically sensitive vocabulary.
- Faculty shall allow school administrators to observe classes without an
advanced notice.
- Faculty shall allow parents to observe classes without an advanced notice.
- In case faculty cannot make the class due to family matters, faculty shall
inform the administrators at least one week in advance so that there is
sufficient time to find a substitute teacher.
- Upon the approval of the principal, faculty may purchase necessary teaching aids & materials.
- To maintain an orderly learning environment, faculty members shall guide the
students to keep the classroom clean and remind the students to keep the noise
level down during recess.
- In case the school has an early dismissal, faculty shall stay with their students
until the parents arrive.
In order to maintain an orderly teaching and learning environment and ensure the continuing use of the state university’s facilities, Baltimore Chinese School requires its students to abide by the following rules in addition to the Maryland Public School Student Responsibilities and Rights. The same consequences in the handbook will apply to those who violate the rules in Baltimore Chinese School.
- Students shall not move the desks and chairs without teacher approval.
- Students shall not deliberately damage the public facilities including the restroom and the drinking fountain.
- Students shall not run in the hallway and keep the noise level down during recess.
- Students shall not miss school without a legitimate reason.
- Parents shall send their children to school in time; parents shall pick up their
children on time after class for the sake of safety.
- In case their children can not make the class due to illness or other legitimate
activities, parents shall inform the teacher at their earliest convenience.
- Parents shall educate their children not to eat snacks during the class.
- Parents are recommended to actively participate in activities organized by the
school.
